In the earliest years of flight, pilots faced open cockpits, unforgiving winds and extreme cold. Leather offered protection. Generous proportions left room for layers beneath. Wool guarded the neck against the elements. Every detail existed with purpose.
When women took to the skies, they entered a world whose uniforms had largely been designed for men. Pioneering aviators wore those same oversized leather silhouettes, transforming a garment of necessity into an unexpected expression of independence.
The Commandant Aviator Heritage in Chocolate Brown returns to that spirit.
Crafted in supple leather, its generous proportions are intentional. The shoulders hold their presence, the body falls with ease, and the oversized silhouette is left uncompromised rather than reshaped to follow conventional ideas of womenswear.
Its removable wool collar recalls the warmth and protection of early aviation clothing while allowing the jacket to take on two distinct characters.
